The new coronavirus was 1st reported on 31/12/2019 in Wuhan City, China.
Although most of the confirmed cases are in China & the far East, the disease is spreading very quickly across the world with an estimated 100,000 people already infected.
The World Health Organisation has made the following recommendations:
- Wash hands regularly & thoroughly with soap & water
- Use alcohol hand gel to sanitise hands.
- Use surface sanitisers
- Cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing
- Avoid contact with people that have a cough or a fever
- Seek medical attention if you have a cough or difficulty breathing
- Avoid contact with livestock in markets in affected areas
- Masks may be of use, but this has not been confirmed yet
